Well done Mr.Director! You should make a bow after the first screening of the movie as I think is about time people stop referring you as Kajol’s cousin and start to acknowledge you for the art that you create. Not to take any credit from her but Ayan has definitely raise the bar for any young and first time director who is just 25 years old. He may be Karan Johar’s protégé but that doesn’t mean anything because this whole story, script and direction were solely on his shoulder from the 1st take till the end. He may worked as assistant director for Ashotosh Gowarikar in Swades (his brother in law) and Karan Johar(Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna) but Dharma Production wont simply choose an idea because of the relationship he is having in the film fraternity but the fact is it also should be fresh, different, innovative and real.

The story and script was delivered as how it should be in real life, Ranbir Kapoor is no doubt immensely talented and how he portrayed a spoilt brat [genuinely like one] who have no goals in life except for spending his father’s wealth, having fun and hangout with his friends should be watch to believe. He became Sid as soon as the cam starts to roll and we fell in love with the innocent teenager who actually believes there’s nothing wrong in not making plans for future instead just enjoying and appreciate life as it comes. Normal life, normal surrounding of a city kid, normal activities with good buddies, and etc make us click and relate instantly with the character of the lovable Sid. I cant stop myself from giving the girls trivia as the film goes on; like Sid’s mother played by Supriya Pathak was Shahid’s step mother in real life, the director related to whom, why was Konkona chosen to be in this film,etc.

Koko(Konkona Sen Sharma) suit the role to the t, she may not have the commercial look nor the diva style like we usually see in movies produces by Karan but she make Aisha role seems so believable especially the part where no matter how good looking and rich Sid is she pointed out why he is not material type for a good bf/husband or why she was very determine in moving from small city to big without having any connection and go after her dream work as she has set her goals from the beginning so there was no need to feel lost or awkward being independence in new city. Unlike Sid who is born with silver spoon in his mouth literally as he gets what he wants, he used his credit card as if there is no limit for the amount, and how he take for granted his mother effort in knowing her own son by learning to speak English. Thrown to the real life with no cash or backup make us realise how tough life can be without our parents.

I love S-E-L and that’s not a secret anymore isn’t it, all their composition easily enter my heart and stay there, from the first time I listen to them. All the tracks have been in my playlist for the past month whether it’s the title track of Wake Up! Sid especially the Club remix, Kya Karoon and my favourite is Iktara. Very easy to the ears, very hummable and memorable, words used are simple and there are youth-ness in the melody which is why they are chart buster. 1 thing that really catch my eyes is that all Ranbir t-shirts were so colourful and funky and have this jawani feel, would love to look for them here as they looked so cool! How I wish they sell WUS’s merchandises in Malaysia too*sigh* I’m so excited this happened to be Sweet Bunch first Hindi movie together; we were like a real traveler with our heavy luggage straight from Malacca after final exam and I can happily feel their sincere comments and how they love the movie and my Ranbir performance. It’s positively going to be 1 of the great movie made this year, all the best for the whole crew and they truly deserved every bit of compliment and success.
